February 2025

John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation.  But take heart (be bold); I have overcome the world.”

I just returned from delivering a hundred Story Cloths, 650 digital Bibles and other ministry resources to a Darfurian refugee community living in Uganda. Thank you, CRM family.

This community has literally passed through the fires of oppression and persecution amid the violent Sudanese war zone. But fleeing the horrors of Darfur has brought them fresh opportunities and stability. Life in their new country, however, is not easy. They still deal with overcrowded living conditions, food shortages, and the effects of PTSD.

During the visit, my friends repeatedly made the same two requests. First, they asked the CRM family to “please help us to grow in our knowledge of the Bible. We want to be the best evangelists and disciple-makers possible when we return to Sudan.” Second, they requested CRM to “please continue providing God’s Word to our people. It is only His Word in their hands that will open their eyes.”

For me personally, what they didn’t say communicated even more than what they said. They did not say “help me get a green card, so I can move to the USA.” They did not ask for material things that could make life more carefree. No, their deepest desires are to make Christ known to their countrymen who remain in darkness.

But the most heartwarming news I brought from Uganda are the two main goals CRM’s boots-on-the-ground Darfurian partners have set for 2025: sharing a first-time gospel witness with one million people in Darfur and starting 40 new churches.

I am convinced our Lord is pleased with such bold planning. So, if in 2025 we, the CRM family, sacrificially pray, give, and go—especially since USAID has been dissolved—I believe we will see the Lord Jesus “do more than we are able to ask or think.”

Prayer and Praise Requests

  • Pray for the safe delivery of the 12,700 Bibles currently in transport within Darfur
  • Pray for those distributing food within Darfur to 400 vulnerable families. This project is funded by another grant given to CRM by the Shai Fund
  • Praise the Lord for the release of Annuar, the main church leader in South Darfur State who supports CRM’s work. Pray that his phone will be returned.
  • Praise the Lord that the January CRM evangelism team in southern Kenya saw 197 Maasai adults confess Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Oh God, grant us who live in a free country the same willingness to sacrifice as our brethren are displaying in persecution!
