Your gifts to Calvary Road Ministries make a real gospel impact in the least reached areas of North and East Africa.
Here are testimonies from new Christians and pastors in oppressed Sudanese communities who have recently accepted Christ as a direct result of the Gospel resources your giving has provided, including hard copy and audio Bibles, Story Cloths, solar powered MP3 players and Proclaimers, and solar powered projectors to show the Jesus Film—all in the native languages of the people groups served. These Sudanese brothers and sisters fervently believe that Christianity is the path forward to end the darkness of war and heal their country.
Your gifts also have been used to evacuate Christian families in harm’s way from Darfur and other war-torn areas in Sudan to the safety of refugee camps in South Sudan and Uganda, as well as provide them with medical care, food, and shelter.

Three months after Bibles and Digital Resources Were Delivered to Darfur (August 2024)
It has been three months since our Darfurian partners distributed 3000 copy of Bibles, and many other evangelical materials such as SD cards, Messengers, Radios, Proclaimers, and projectors in Darfur. All these materials, combined with the great efforts that leaders on the ground are making, are having a great impact as you can read from their testimonies.
Mohamed… said, “it was bad for people to live without the Word of God in their hand, because we saw that after God’s Word became available in the hands of people, they read and heard and shared God’s it. Within three months, we recorded 1,500 people who verbally announced their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This large number of people would never have heard the gospel and understood their lostness without having the Word of God in their hands.” He said “we thank God for CRM standing with us to provide for our community to have God’s Word in their hand”
Darfurian church leader’s father receives Jesus through CRM Supplied Bible (July 2024)
AM, the leader in J… said “it was the presence of a Bible in my room that converted my father who was really hating me because of my faith.” AM said “my father knew that I was a Christian and he was really hating me and didn’t want to eat with me or even sit where I sat. He told me several times to leave his home and go out because I am Christian. One day, when I was not at home, my father entered my room. God directed him to go to my Bible. When he saw the Bible, as hesitant as he was, he took courage to pick the Bible and read for himself. As he opened the Bible, God took him to Psalms 1. He read through the whole chapter. He sat down and read the whole chapter again. My father started crying as he realized his lostness, and the way he was hating me. He took the Bible to his room and began sharing the same chapter of Psalms with my mother. Both waited until I returned home, and as usual when I returned home, I didn’t make any alarms because I know my father is not happy with me. But this time when I came back home, I found the situation very different. My father came to me and as he tried to hug me, I wanted to jump because I worried that he may harm me. But he said, “come to me my son. Please forgive me for my ignorance of God and His words, for today I learned that you are not gone astray, but you followed the true God whom we all need to follow.” When he said that, I was very happy, but struggled to believe this was my father. I asked, “what happened?” And he said, “God took me to your room today and I found your Bible and I read it. I found that Bible tells us not to sit in council of wicked.” I thank God and CRM for providing me the Bible that changed my parents. Later, with the same chapter, my father changed our family at large. AM added, “since we received the Bibles, we have recorded 713 people who accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and 80% are from my extended family.”
Impact of a Messenger in a Hospital ward, Darfur (June 2024)
Za.. is an old women who has never gone to school. She only heard the Word of God through a Messenger (MP3 player). One day she was sick and admitted to the local hospital. While she was there, she always put her Messenger on and listened. She said, “whenever my Messenger is on, reading for us all the Word of God, it silenced the dorm completely. Sick people, nurses, even medical personnel who were attending to us, they were listening so attentively. One women came up to me and asked me, ‘what is this you are using?’” I told her “it is called Messenger but it’s like a teacher to me who is teaching me God’s word.” She asked, “can I get one?” I told her “It was given to me but I will ask the people who gave me one to look for you.” The woman said “please, this small radio has been the reason of my healing in this room. When you came here, you found me after I had stayed here for three months. I never had peace like the day you came here and played this radio to recite God’s sweet words for us. It has been the reason for my relief. Please get me one, for I am sure it will help people in my village.” I saw it was true with almost everyone in that room. I realized the reason the people in our country are ignorant of God is because his words have never reached the people.” (In Touch with Charles Stanley donates 400 Messengers to CRM each year)

Testimony of one evacuated by CRM to safety (May 2023)
I thank God for our brothers and sisters with CRM who helped us in our condition. I nearly lost hope when I was in Al Geneina. But I still had hope for God’s mercy and grace.
The day I was evacuated from Al Geneina, I was so surprised by Jesus. I was praying together with my children, preparing for death and asking Jesus to receive us into his kingdom. But the answer was a child came running to my house “auntie, auntie we are to leave for N.. now!” She said God wants us to tell his people his words.
Then I said “if God takes me to any place, I will talk about Him to others.” So, when we came to Ny… I knew God was telling me I still have you here to talk to my people about me. My relatives in Ny… were so surprised when we arrived They had a lot of questions.
My answer for them was Jesus is the Lord, I believe, and trust him who helped me out. One day my brother asked me, “can you tell me about your Jesus whom you talk so much about?” I told him a powerful message, that Jesus asked us to forgive our enemies. “Can we forgive Janjaweed (now called RSF)?” He said “no.” I told him “that’s why there is no peace. If we listened to Jesus and forgive each other, we would live in peace. But because we don’t listen to him, we have a war today.” My brother was so interested because he was so challenged. He loved my conversation, and at the end, he believed in the Lord. He then talked with my relatives, and all the family accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe these people are going to change Darfur.
May the Lord bless those who made our escape possible. Keep praying for me. I know our Lord Jesus Christ is going to do miracles through me.
Simon reached seventeen using materials on a micro-SD card (September 2022)
It was in September, 2022 I had Masalit praise song from someone. I had a friend of mine, his name is Simon, I asked him whether he understood the song. He told me yes; I understand that he is praising someone called Yassu. I asked him, “Do you know Yassu?” He said I don’t know him. That gave me great opportunity to share the gospel with him. Simon was so excited as his people are seriously persecuted by Arab Muslims, even though they are all professing Muslims.
He took the message seriously and he asked me to share the song with him. I had the Micro SD card that CRM ministry provided. I gave him that memory card loaded with Masalit song and Jesus Film in Sudanese Arabic. Simon was very happy and gave great thanks. He said, “my brother, we have been deceived all the way from our great grandfather’s up to today. I will lead my people to understand this message.”
Within only 15 days he shared the Jesus Film with more than 200 hundred people. He said “I asked everybody to share the message with others.” He told me that he has got 7 Masalit people who accepted Christ. He asked that I go and share more with them, but I have not yet visited them due to the insecurity in Masalit area. (Note, Al Geneina is the main city of the Masalit people. Our brother never got to visit “Simon” and his friends due to the civil war that began a few months later. There is an article on Wikipedia entitled “Battle of Geneina.”)
ZAINAB FAMILY PERSECUTION (AUGUST 2022)
Zainab has heard about the church in Za…. She is a teacher in one of the schools of our area. She visited the church and said “I have heard about the church but I don’t see bad people coming here so I have decided to come and see whether their message is true!” “What do people say?” we asked her. She said, “people are saying that infidels have arrived in our country, and they have brought Christian materials teaching our children. But what I am seeing is very smart people are coming in the church and there is no problem happening. So, I have come to check by myself if this is true.”
We told her “You are a teacher, and you understand most of the materials when you read. You can judge by yourself if Christian materials are wrong.” We gave her Paul’s message to Galatians, and we asked her to read by herself. She took time and read the book and she was interested with the fruit of the Holy Spirit. She asked, “the book is really nice, but do you really believe that Jesus is the Son of God?” We took time to explain for her what does it mean when we say Jesus is the Son of God. At last, her mindset was changed and she said, “I wish I had known this before!” She asked very funny question, “do you accept women to be Christians?” We told her “You are a daughter of the Lord from the time you have decided to accept Christ.”
Zainab accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and after the prayer she felt joyful. She said, “I had a dream for such an occasion, but I didn’t know that this was the time!” She requested for a Bible and we gave her one supplied by CRM. She took it with her. She hid the book from her husband for almost three weeks. But a day came when her husband found her reading the Bible. The husband asked, “what kind of a book that you are reading?” She answered, life solution book. Her husband was like, okay let me see it. He read the book, and he said, “this is Christian book where did you get it?” She didn’t lie, she said “I went to the church, and I got it there.” The husband got very annoyed and called for her father.
Now the father came and asked her about the story of the book. She explained everything clearly. The father said, “your husband is very clear if you follow this book, he is going to divorce you and I am out of this.” She said to her father that “you have taught us that truth is over all and we must live it. And now as Jesus is the truth, we don’t need to change it. You are the only two men that meant a lot in my life. But God is above all of us. One thing I know is that you have not read this book. I ask you to read this book carefully and if there are things you don’t understand go to those people of the Church to explain for you.” Both the father and the son-in- law went out while they are confused. We are still waiting to see what God is going to do in Zainab’s life. Please pray for her as she is going to face challenges.
ALFRED: PROJECTOR HELPS WITH DISCIPLESHIP (FEBRUARY 2022)
It was yesterday on 8th of February 2022 in my town in Darfur. I was called by a friend called “Alfred”. He is one of our disciples, but he is not in the Bible school class. He informed me that he has already started a discipleship group at his home. He told me to go and help them know Christ. It was a big surprise for me! I found him with a group of twelve people. Most of them are university students. One of them talked on behalf of the group and said, “we were waiting for you to help us know how to practice our Christian faith daily! We also have some questions concerning the doctrine of Trinity.” I praised God for his grace upon this group!
I had the mini projector that God provided through CRM with Jesus Film. I told them please if you can allow me to show the Jesus film in our language we will talk more things. They said “oh yes, we have the whole night let’s watch the film!” We watched the Jesus Film in the Fur language. These people were very happy and seriously amazed by what they heard in the film. Then I asked them “do you all believe in Jesus Christ?” They responded “yes.” We prayed and then discussed for 6 hours how a believer should live in a Muslim community.
Please pray for believers with Islamic background most of them are being persecuted by their relatives.
Homer and Sabrina (Jan 2022)
“Homer” was a Muslim who came to Christ when we shared the good news with him. He told us that he also taught his wife “Sabrina” the Bible every night before they go to bed. Sabrina saw the way her husband changed and the way he began to treat her. On 21/01/2022 the couple were reading the Bible. Sabrina was thinking different things about this new way. Homer realized that Sabrina was not concentrating. He asked, her “what is the matter?” She said, “we really need to expose this way to our people. I have seen the life of my father and his wives. They have no peace at all. Every night they quarrel and sometimes my father beats my mother. I have seen my elder sister has it the same way with her husband and my brother with his wife. They have no peace in their homes. The reason is because they don’t have Chirst in their lives. Though it is hard for them to accept Christ, but as I and you have accepted Christ in our lives, let’s work hard to bring our relatives to Christ.”
Homer got very happy that his wife could think that way within a short time of her experience with Christianity. Homer told his wife “let’s pray that God will help us preach his word to our people.”
“Mark” received Jesus through an SD card (2022)
This is “Mark” he was a devoted Muslim. He is a university student. He heard the gospel through listening to the NT loaded on an SD card supplied by CRM. CRM has equipped us with materials like SD cards, MP3 players, mini projectors, and Flash drives loaded with gospel films, the New Testament, and Jesus stories in different languages. Last year we had 14 University students who came to Christ. One of them was a woman named “Jewel” who was given SD card. She shared most of her materials with her brother Mark. Mark then watched the Jesus film and listened to the gospel carefully. After some time, Mark met me in the market, and introduced himself to me. Then he told me his story.
He told me that I used to hate anything concerning Christianity and when my sister gave me these materials my aim was to understand what Christianity is all about. Then I ended up losing hope in Islam and developing interest in Christianity. I was especially interested in the Gospel of John. Specifically, when I heard Jesus’ teaching about the eternal food. In the book of John 6:27 “Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.” Mark said, “I compared this teaching with the Islamic promise of paradise. In Islam everything that is promised is physical food. I also have learned that humans are all sinful not like in Islam where Sheikhs are considered holy people. So, I have decided to accept Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. What I need is to know how to practice my faith in this new life”. I then took a time explaining to him what he should do to continue following Christ. He has got very happy, and he is a new follower in Christ.
