Mark 10:13-15 “People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
Suffer the Little Children (Allow Them to Come to Jesus)
For the children of Darfur, growing up has been filled with war, loss, and danger. Even during these hard times, they strongly desire to know God’s love. Hamida, a nine-year-old girl, said, “I have seen and heard terrible things—children and adults being hurt or killed. I thought life was just like that. But then I accepted Jesus and watched The Jesus Film. When I saw that Jesus—the powerful God who can stop storms and raise the dead—loves children, I found hope again. I felt deep peace and joy. I thought, ‘If every child knows Jesus, we will all be safe.’ Please give us Bibles and Children’s books so we can learn more about God.”
Food and clothing help their physical bodies, but God’s Word helps their hearts and minds by bringing lasting hope, comfort, and peace. Currently we have a chance to give them Bibles in the language they understand best. These Scriptures will teach them about courage, God’s promises, and a Heavenly Father who will never leave them. Together, we can obey Jesus’ command and make sure no child in Darfur is kept away from Him.
The above two paragraphs were included in a funding request submitted by CRM’s Darfur team for purchasing 2,000 children’s Bibles. The cost is $8 per Bible. The total associated transport cost is $3,200. Our team noted that church leaders and Christian parents desperately desire to have Bibles and literature written for children. As first-generation Christians, they want to train their children from an early age how to “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God…,” 2 Cor. 10:5.
Since June, you, our CRM family, have made it possible for us to fund projects that provided 10,000 Bibles and seeds for 1,200 displaced families in Darfur. Now we ask you to prayerfully consider enabling us to raise the $19,200 required to purchase and transport Bibles for 2000 children.
Update on the Seeds of Hope and Spirit Project
Because you prayed and gave, CRM exceeded its $50,000 goal and ultimately provided seeds for over 1,200 displaced and suffering families in Darfur. The seeds have been bought and distributed. We now ask you to join us in praying that the Lord blesses these families with the right amount of rain to produce abundant crops. Half the recipient families are non-Christian, so please also pray that this further display of the love of Christ will demolish all barriers erected through false teaching and unquestioned cultural norms.
